Memorial Day has its ties back to the Civil war and is marked by a day where people would decorate the graves of soldiers who died in the Civil War. Today, a lot of rhetoric is covering conservative circles in the fact that President Obama is not going to Arlington for the ceremonies there. However, President Obama is not the first President to miss this day and be elsewhere. Is there any doubt that President Obama may seem a little less patriotic than he should be? Of course not, but come on conservatives, let us keep this day what is about and kill the politics. Let us remember those who died in service of our country, because it was their blood that has protected our freedom.

The True Side of Planned ParentHood

The Thomas More Society, a pro-life law center located in Illinois, has been fighting Planned Parenthood and their likes for years. In 2007, Planned Parenthood began setting up operations in Aurora, Illinois while attempting to deceive the citizens and governmental officials of what they were doing. On all of the paperwork, Planned Parenthood decided to open and operate under a cover name to keep their identity from being known. Planned Parenthood of Illinois CEO Steve Trombley painted a picture of those in opposition as violent anti-abortionist protesters through various media outlets.

Eventually, the Thomas More Society filed a lawsuit on behalf of those standing on the side of life. In what should have been a simple and easy case, Planned Parenthood hid behind a law intended to protect individuals from large companies. In the words of the Thomas More Society, “That’s right, the billion dollar world-wide mega-corporation was claiming that they were being intimidated by a handful of pro-lifers whose good names they had tarnished in print. Judge Judith Brawka heard the case in Kane County Court and, on several of the counts, agreed with Planned Parenthood’s claims and so decided that Planned Parenthood was entitled to over $300,000 in legal fees from the pro-lifers and the League.”

This case has been appealed but still needs your support and prayers. Our voice should be made known and clear. Planned Parenthood intimidates no one and should never receive the support of tax dollars. Their history has made their agenda clear.

A Continued Demoralization

Yesterday, a Wisconsin judge ruled the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional, while President Obama sent a memo to the Department of Health and Human Services asking them to develop rules requiring hospitals that receive federal subsidies (i.e. Medicare and Medicaid) to allow homosexual partners visitation and power of attorney rights. With the coming Supreme Court vacancy, one must wonder what Obama has in plan for it. Our time to battle is now. Americans across the country are fed up with the direction we have taken, but this is our fault. We, as the church, must take ownership and begin to do the work of the Lord.

Virginia Governor Supports Planned Parenthood

An excerpt from Roanoke.com says it all about Governor McDonnell, “And he signed legislation allowing a special license plate that will generate money for Planned Parenthood, but stipulated that the proceeds could not be used for abortion services.” In what way does the governor think that the money will not fund abortion? This simply means that money will be channeled and swamped around on paper. What America needs is politicians who are Christians with strong convictions that are biblically based and will not fall over to worldly pressure. The great hope we have is that the voices of all these babies will be heard on day.

Governor McDonnell’s office has been contact but no reply is expect.

A Confused Type of Love

Flooding the online Christian and secular media world is the “coming out” of Jennifer Knapp, a Contemporary Christian recording artist. Currently, she admittedly does not attend church but is the happiest that she has ever been. While it is sad that another artist has fallen into sin, we should not be surprised. The most shocking part for the majority is bound to be that she is a homosexual. However, what do we do? How do we approach it? While approaching this issue is difficult, we must remember that homosexuality should never be condoned in any way and the Bible is clear that it is a sin.

The problem is that the love factor gets confused for both sides many times. While the homosexual is looking for something to fill a void, the condemning Christian may be forgetting what the love of Christ is. We do not have  to accept the behavior, but we do not have the right to condemn or speak outside of truth. Our problems within our current American culture wrap around this basic issue of love. The responsibility falls to the church. We must love each other within the family of Christ before we can expect those who are not Christians to come to a relationship with Christ. Simply telling people a plan of salvation is not enough. We must live out Christ in our lives and teach the whole truth of the Gospel. Do not expect a homosexual to act any different if you first do not understand Love.

Abortion Just Isn’t Pretty

The Miami Herald reports that a Florida doctor’s license was suspended after performing a failed abortion and aborting a perfectly healthy twin. The growing child that he was attempting to kill had Down Syndrome and a possible heart effect. Sadly, the doctor had reported that he had never done the procedure before but did not like saying “no”.

Abortion is not about quality of life for most supporters. Evidence proves otherwise and the end game involves murdering a life that God created. While it would be hard to say how one’s emotions would be if you were to find out that you child would be born with some sort of handicap, this case shows that emotions can be blinding. The hard truth is that the planned murder of a child that was considered unworthy of life caused the death of a child that probably would have been born healthy.

Planned Parenthood, to Them HIV and Sex is a Joke

Below is an except from a International Planned Parenthood Federation pamphlet on teenage sex with HIV.

Young people living with HIV may feel that sex is just not an option, but don’t worry — many young people living with HIV live healthy, fun, happy and sexually fulfilling lives. You can too, if you want to! Things get easier (and sex can get even better) as you become more comfortable with your status.

Not only this, the pamphlet says that they do not support a law requiring those with HIV to disclose this to their sexual partners. The guide overall is sick and grotesque and this is the type of education that our sick government and organizations like Planned Parenthood will be forcing on school children if we do not stop them. Read the brochure at your own discretion but be prepared to be sick.

Secular Logic Says “The Religious Right Promotes Abortion”

An article article entitled, “How the Religious Right Promotes Abortion“, brings up an interesting point about abstinence education. The article goes on to state that the lack of Republican support for contraception encourages abortion and that no evidence exists that abstinence reduces premarital sex.  Thus, Republicans are responsible for millions of abortions.

The first mishap of the article is pointing out that “Republican” is not a synonymous word with “Christian”. The affiliation with any party does not qualify one to be called a Christian. As there is one way to become a Christian (through faith in Jesus Christ), party identification hardly equals any identification with Christ.

Moreover, sexual education should come from the home and within the church. Sadly, this just does not happen. However, simply giving contraceptives as an alternative does not give a solution to the problem. This does not involve catchy sermon serious with the word “sex” or some other variant referencing the same. These types of sermon titles sound enticing to people of my generation and those after, but have these actually had a dramatic impact on what they had hoped to accomplish? Ultimately, the article is true in the face that abstinence education does not have supporting evidence that it is effective and this is because it must be accompanied by life style changes and church discipleship.

‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Up for Review

Last week, John McHugh, the Secretary of the Army, stated on Wednesday that there would be no discharges for homosexuals in the Army, but later “corrected” his statement with the New York Times saying that these discharges were still possible.

Obama made his agenda clear. He plans on repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’, but he will not stop there. They want to allow homosexuals to serve openly. Sadly, what general is going to stand against the administration, especially, when they will find their walking papers in the days coming?

One prime example is Lt. General Benjamin Mixon, who spoke out against changing militarily policy but later realized his comments were “inappropriate”. This is why Christians must be involved in our government. If we allow immoral people to continue to run this country, our freedom to worship and carry the Gospel will be taken away.

Patrick Kennedy on Healthcare and Abortion

The Cybercast News Service ran an article today highlighting Patrick Kennedy’s position on elective abortion coverage. Kennedy, son of the late Edward Kennedy, said, “It’s not a question of morality or anything; it’s a matter of health — public health.” He went on to say that it is not about judging people but providing and making certain that people are safe. In other words, people are safe if they can have abortion-on-demand.

While driving the other day, I passed a bumper sticker with a picture of a handgun and it asked if people would be upset if we used them to kill babies.

Gates Relaxes ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’

Defense Secretary, Robert Gates announced that the rules for ousting homosexuals in the U.S. military have been changed to allow for a more fair process. While this is being done in the name of “fair treatment”, this only sets the stage for Obama’s push to allow homosexuals to actively serve in the military. While there is not overwhelming public support or military support for allowing open homosexual relationships, our President and congress have demonstrated that it does not matter to them through the passage of the healthcare bill. Get ready military and America.

On the road to healthcare reform, we are seeing many interesting things evolve from our governments plans to “help” the people. From abortion to new taxes, this is a mess. But, who has a clear cut solution? Do the Republicans, Democrats, Moderates, or even the Libertarians have an effective plan? No, they do not.

We cry and complain but do we have a right if do nothing? I am constantly reminded of Matthew 22:37-40. Reform will come when we love God, and we love our neighbors. Insurance and so many more social issues would be covered if we just love one another in Christ. This goes beyond mere words and should quickly form into action. When we put all of our hope and faith in an earthly government, we cannot expect any less.
