The White House’s Magic Number of 8

In a recent email from the White House, it stated, “8 — that’s the number of people every minute who are denied coverage, charged a higher rate or otherwise discriminated against because of a pre-existing condition.¹ 8 is also the number of lobbyists hired by special interests to influence health reform for every member of Congress in 2009.^2” (Their sources listed below).

This is an attempt to push immoral and socialistic control on the United States. How about 3304 for a random number and more important number? Over 3304 babies are aborted each day in the United States. How many special interest groups are working on the side of killing babies besides Obama, Pelosi, and Reid? There is no amount of words that the White House can say to cover up the fact that Americans care about life and not some government spin on healthcare control that includes abortion coverage.

Prayer for the IMB’s President Search

The International Mission Board (IMB), the international missions arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, is requesting that March 13 be set aside as a day of prayer for their search for the next president of the IMB. Current president, Jerry Rankin, will retire effective July 31, 2010. Please remember the board in your prayers as they narrow down the search for the next leader.

Virginia Attorney General Takes a Stand on Morals

The newly elected Virginia Attorney General, Ken Cuccinelli II, has already begun to shake up the liberal thinkers in Virginia. On March 4, Cuccinelli sent a letter to Virginia colleges and universities requesting that they drop any certain classifications in their non-discrimination  policies.

In his letter Cuccinelli stated: “It is my advice that the law and public policy of the Commonwealth of Virginia prohibit a college or university from including “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” “gender expression,” or like classifications, as a protected class within its non-discrimination policy, absent specific authorization from the General Assembly.”

Individuals, businesses, and government organizations do not have to give into the pressures of a liberal society as depicted by the media.

Xbox Live Crosses Over

As an avid user of Xbox Live, which allows gamers to play together from around the world, it was shocking to see them cross the line into the homosexual front. Before now, gamers were not allowed to use words such as “bi” or “lesbian” in their gamer tags (your online name) because of them being used as hate words. However the  updated terms of use say, “You may use the following terms to express your relationship orientation in your profile or Gamertag: Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, or Straight.”

The new change is useless and just shows another company moving toward the pressure of trying to please everyone. The end game will only accomplish one thing: softening the usage of the words related to homosexuals. The website states that abuse will not be tolerated but one could predict a high number of users will insert the names because it is “funny”.

ADF Challenges Dismissal of Lawsuit Against Illegal State Contracts

Governmental agencies seem to never fail to overlook the will of the people. In Colorado, voters passed the Abortion Funding Prohibition Amendment to amend the state’s constitution and prohibit using public money to fund abortions directly or indirectly. In 2008, a lawsuit was filed contending that the governor and other state agents awarded five contracts to abortion providers.

A judge dismissed the lawsuit and is currently being appealed.

The people of Colorado felt strongly that no taxpayer should be forced to pay for a procedure that takes innocent human life. That’s why they amended the state constitution to put a stop to it,” said ADF Senior Legal Counsel Steven H. Aden. “This is a simple matter of the rule of law. Government officials cannot circumvent this amendment simply because they prefer to impose public funding for abortion on demand.

One of the receiving agencies was none other than Planned Parenthood.

Virginia Plates to Fund Planned Parenthood

The Virginia Senate has passed a bill  (Senate Bill No. 18) that will allow money to be collected on a specialty tag to fund the Virginia League of Planned Parenthood. This means that the ability of the profit off of killing babies organization will expand its funding. Virginia residents should call their representatives and demand that no state funds or governmental collecting of charitable contributions should be done for this organization.

Another Planned Parenthood Fails

A Planned Parenthood facility in the state of Wisconsin ignored a state law against statutory rape when another undercover sting by Live Action records a “14 year-old” claiming to be pregnant by a “31 year old”.  According to the Live Action website,

In the video, after hearing the girl is 14 and her boyfriend is “much older,” the counselor says whether or not the situation will be reported by clinic workers “depends on the person you’re disclosing that information to.” When the girl says that her boyfriend is 31, the counselor tells her, “You don’t have to say anything” about the statutory rape and instructs her, “Just give them the information that’s needed.” The counselor also confirms that the 31-year-old “boyfriend” will be paying for the abortion.

This yet shows further proof of the organization’s purpose as a whole. When you give a little over to sin, the end result is that it [the sin] takes much.  In this case, many innocent babies die each day with preventable deaths.

Planned Parenthood Still Confused on how to Stop the Spread of STD’s?

An article on a Cleveland State University website opens with, “Everyday, 25,000 people ages 15-24 will contract an STD. According to the Ohio Department of Health, nearly 3000 people died in Cuyahoga County during 2008 as a result of AIDS and complications due to the disease.” The event was sponsored by a university club called Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Alliance in part with Planned Parenthood. Statistics show that a homosexual lifestyle tends to be more apt to live out a life of promiscuity. In essence, this “Safe Sex Fest” does nothing more than promote an unhealthy lifestyle. To make light of the situation, some involved in the “fest” wore penis costumes. Does Planned Parenthood really care about the value of life?

The Obama Administration Keeps Pushing against the Will of the People

Time told the American people that the Obama administration and our congress do not value life or respect our desires. Keeping with his game, President Obama is pushing for the healthcare legislation to be rammed through congress, according to multiple headlines. The truth is that he never stopped and never intended to drop abortion funding. We must keep on our elected representatives and more importantly, clean house in the November elections. This is not a matter of politics in the House of God. This is a matter of a Christian living in a country that allows them to freely exercise their voice with the government. This voice should be a voice of Truth.

The State of the Union

The State of the Union address should have pointed to two simple words last night, “messed up”. A brief summary of the night points to empty job and economic promises, a promise of repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, promises of pushing healthcare that funds abortion and bankrupts the nation financially and economically, and an attempted slap at the U.S. Supreme Court (forgetting about checks and balances). This is what we as a country voted for in the last election.

The state of the United States is simply messed up, and this requires our action to fix it. Pray, talk to others, stay on your elected representatives from the local to federal levels, and do not forget to vote.

Planned Parenthood Update

Public outrage is definitely growing at murder of innocent lives and profit hungry abortion clinics. Legislation is currently underway to remove funding for Planned Parenthood and other states are looking into similar measures. Keep up the pressure.

Ignoring the Value of Life

The Associated Press reports that a several women’s groups (Women’s Media Center, National Organization for Women, Feminist Majority) are pressuring CBS to drop an ad by Focus on the Family that tells the story of how the mother of Tim Tebow decided to carry him rather than abort him after getting sick during a mission trip.

The letter sent to CBS said in part: “By offering one of the most coveted advertising spots of the year to an anti-equality, anti-choice, homophobic organization, CBS is aligning itself with a political stance that will damage its reputation, alienate viewers, and discourage consumers from supporting its shows and advertisers”.

A tear for these groups. The common issue missed is that life if meant to live abundantly in the Lord. If a pro-choice issue exists, the issue is to not have sexual intercourse unless you are ready to bear the responsibility.

Pro-Abortion Healthcare on Temporary Halt

As Democratic leaders said yesterday that they would hold off on the current healthcare legislation because of the lack of votes, the seeming retreat makes one leery of what is going on behind the scenes. The Obama, Pelosi, and Reid express did not get it the first time and do not get it now. Americans do not want this. One thing is clear: it is not over. Many alternative ways of creeping bits and pieces of legislation in part or whole exist. This coming election we must be sure to put out the old and in with new, conservative and God-fearing men and women.

As time progresses, two words in the Christian world bother me. The two words are ministry and missions. In the past, I have written on missions numerous times and our confusion of the term and its application. For several months now, the thought of ministry has been bothersome and not because it is something bad to do. But, people should not be treated or thought of as ministry. At that point, you have lost what it is all about.

A group of believers got together each week for prayer and attended the same Sunday school class. Time after time, it was mentioned that several were looking for a ministry. What happened is the focus was on the act and not what was behind the act or allowing the Holy Spirit free range to direct and act. The greatest ministry opportunity that they had was missed and near irrepressible damage was done. Why? Because, the greatest ministry opportunity they had was before their eyes with a person that was a part of their group. When that person needed the support of his brothers and sisters in Christ the most, they were nowhere to be found.  Not a phone call or even a simple text message was sent. He fell through the cracks.

Ministry is love and maybe better defined as a way of life. Ministry involves serving, teaching, and sacrifice. The life of Paul exhibited each of these characteristics throughout his ministry. He did not stay inside some building but got out with the people. He went door to door and exhibited a love that was true for those around him. What is ministry to you? Do you define people or treat them as ministry, or do you love them and exhibit the love of Christ because that is what we are called to do without condition?

People in the church are hurting, and sometimes we are so blinded by our own emotions or hurt that we fail to reach those who are right before us.

Cindy McCain Comes out for Homosexual Marriage

According to multiple news sources, Cindy McCain, wife of the pro-marriage Senator John McCain has openly endorsed homosexual marriage in a stance against Proposition 8. The McCain campaign holds to Senator McCain still holding that marriage should be between a man and woman. However, this does raise further questions of the true conservativeness of John McCain.

Millions of Lives Taken Since Roe V. Wade

According to the National Right to Life Committee, since 1973, abortions have cost some 52,008,665 lives. Thankfully, the number of abortions per year is dropping to numbers seen in the later part of the 1970s. We must continue in our fight against abortion and stand for the lives of the silent.
