The viaje

On Wednesday, Josue and I set out for Hermosillo Mexico with plans of an overnight stop near the border.  Little did we know, we were going to make this a memorable trip across country.  After about 3 hours of travel, the van broke down and would not crank.  We were jumped off to break down again.  Five and a half hours later we were back on the road.  We waited for about 3 hours on the side of the road for the Green Angels to come and help, when I happened to think that I had the numbers for all of the Baptist Churches in Mexico.  Somehow I was lucky enough to have the number for a church in the next town which was about 20 minutes away.  I spoke to the pastor on the phone and explained the situation and as he was coming to get us, the Green Angel showed up and towed us.  He directed us to the electrical mechanic and took us to eat lunch as the shop was closed.  For the 5 1/2 hours off of schedule, it took about five minutes to fix the van for us to hit the road.

I could not help to think though, how many not just pastors but Christians in the United States would have been willing to go so far out of their way to help us and take us to eat?

So the next day comes without a flaw until we are 10 minutes away from our hotel and final destination.  The van overheats and is without oil.  We were stranded for about an 1 1/2 hours.  After I finally pulled into the hotel, I parked in front and got our room card.  I stepped back into the van to find out it would not crank, but it was okay because we were at our final destination.  Still as of now, it has the appearance that the funeral for the van is upon us.

Please remember us in your prayers this week as about 101 of us have gathered together to spread the Word.
